Turbo and Injectors

Hi Guys

I have a polo 100bhp TDI

I wanted to fit a turbo from a 130bhp golf and injectors along with intercooler , remap

I spoke to jabbasport today who said injectors are not needed is it worth me getting the injectors anyway as the price is only £80 or is it a total waste of money
also what sort of power do you think it'll run

thanks

Not worth it, the engine internals won't take the power. Dunno if it's the TD or PD version, from what I remember Jason/Devonutopia got up to 145-150ish on that engine if it's the PD100 one, but he'll correct me if I'm wrong (hopefully ;))

Personally I'd go with whatever advise your tuner gives you on this one, Jabba maps these things all the time and they pretty much know the limits of each engine. I'd use that 80 quid on something else, perhaps a rear ARB if it fits, although it is a bit more than 80 quid ;)

Hi devonmiekyboy I spoke to allard but they were not 100% sure what spec the engine was in the polo unless they see the car.
I'm going to get allard to fit the intercooler for me but they coulden't really advise on the injectors until examining the car further.
What jabba said that there is only so far i can push that engine and my injectors will be fine.
who would you guys recommend for the remap jabba or allards to allards have a rolling road?

It's the engine internals, they can't handle it - agreeing with you Mike that if you get a bigger turbo the injector upgrade is worth it in principle, however as the engine can't take it, it seems pointless in those circumstances.

Think there was a guy over on briskoda (john yardley?) who upgraded a PD100 to PD130 injectors and turbo running about 180-190bhp ok.

Believe he had an allard fmic too.

Theres no problem whatsoever in putting the asz 130 components on the 100pd engine. Ive done all these mods and a friend of mine who maps my car has the technical info from VAG development on the engine - this engine will cope with 155- 200bhp.

Jabba are just as good with diesel's as they are with petrol, on past experiences with both companies i would reccomend jabba over allard any day of the week, just because Allard specialise in tdi's doesn't mean they are any better. AVRS has a allard big turbo and his car isn't performing as well as mine at the moment!! What you will find is jabba will give you honest advice not just trying to make you spend all your money, they are a top class company and i 100% reccomend them to anyone for any work that needs doing.

Surprised Jabba of all people said the pd100 doesn't need new injectors for bigger power. They run a pd130 demo Fabia vRS and would have thought they knew from tuning my car's standard setup (among others) that the pd100 is limited by poor fuelling from the injectors. The PD100 block will take 180bhp (thanks to pd130 injectors and turbo) all day long. NOT 100% sure what it will be like past 200bhp, but then no-ones gone that far with the ATD engine (I think?)
