tt calipers on 288mm set up

do the tt calipers fit onto the 288mm carriers as my dads leon looks like the calipers are the same as the tt's but only has 288mm disks. i also know that mk4 owners only need the 312mm carriers to uprate the system to 312mm disks the reason is if i can souce some calipers and then change them over and have fluid change then when i get carriers for the 312mm and disks and dont have to disconect the caliper. ( im having a service in the next few weeks and its the one i need my brake fluid doing on!)
any help will be great!

only problem with using standard mk4 calipers is that the only car that shares them is the 2.0l petrol fabia(yawns) so there is very few aftermarket pads ( ds2000) where as if you use a TT caliper there are shedloads

ah so the caliper is the same but the pads are different to fit to the disk? if i get them will just have to find everything first then!

no the pad suits the caliper , so if you use 288mm calipers you have to use 288mm pads etc , id use a full 312mm setup so you can choose a good pad , i use galfer and they are good , ds2000 are fantastic -used them on my 288mm setup , see bill on here

yes ive been looking around at prices and parts few of the places ive been in contact with have had the full setup but some haven't got back to me and some just dont seem right think im just going to take my time and get the calipers and carriers sorted then go and get new disks and pads from gfs or similar place waiting on an answer from two sorces now so fingures crossed, ive been in spaniels and they are very good nearly pulls and endo lol!!!!
