When the outside temp drops below a certain point (5 degrees C, IIRC) the display automatically switches to show the temp.

I'm not sure what all the functions are,or how to work them, on mine. The manual doesn't explain it either

IIRC :

Time
Outside Temp
Average Speed*
Current mpg
Average mpg*
Distance travelled*
Miles to empty

Obviously, the toggle button on the end of the stalk controls which figure is displayed. The items marked * are based on one of two mileage trip figures. Trip 1 is reset to zero after the car has been turned off for an hour. Trip 2 resets when you tell it or when it exceeds 9,999 miles. Switch between the two trips by pressing the button on the underside of the stalk once and reset the current trip by holding the button in for a couple of seconds.
