Put car into garage today as traction control light staying and traction control not working.
Diagnostics saying its an abs pump thats faulty and its a 1200 quid sort! Does this sound right? i'd of thought it would of been the abs light that would of came on? Does the seat garage diagnostics work fine on a re mapped car?

if the MAF is unplugged or knackered the light comes on I think, worth checking ;)

Was having problems with my car cutting out, put into the garage and they were at the MAF and another sensor to get it going right enough. this light has only come on since it came out of the garage

does it drive okay??

reset the light and see if it reappears.

afaik, the traction light comes on to signify a fooked maf. if it was unplugged then the light will come on, they just didnt reset it after they played around with it.

wouldnt go getting worried about 1200quid for a warning light mate.

but then if tc not working then id be checking sensors on the tc before diagnosing the whole system is goosed.. never heard of a tc system having to be replaced.

The car going fine apart from the tc not working. Diagnostics saying that its the abs pump, they said they've tried clearing the code but it won't clear not sure if this would be the same as resetting. The bit that gets me is the prob only started after it came out of the garage after sorting the running problem and they had been playing about with these sensors

If you know anyone with vag com I would try see if they can scan your car see what the fault code is.
It may well be the pump, but I would think It would be a wheel sensor first of all, and 1200 for a pump seems mega expensive.
