Trackday & Runabout for Wife

Newbie here! ;)

I'm considering buying either a Ibizia or Leon Cupra R.
I want to tweak it as a track day car, but it also needs to be useable by the wife as a shopping car.
Main question is can the Ibizia Cupra deliver the same power as the Leon Cupra R with some tweaks but no internal work?

Depends on what you mean?

The Ibiza has a smaller turbo compared to the LCR, so you may be able to remap it and get it close to the standard figures of the Leon, but then if you remap the Leon you'll never be able to match it with an Ibiza without more mods.

On the plus side, the Ibiza is going to be smaller and cheaper to buy.

Can't see much performance diffeence on the track with a remapped Ibiza Cupra R and a remapped LCR. The LCR's extra 40+bhp will be offset by it's weight

Infact I think the Ibiza would be more fun on the track and easier to make handle well, both realy need decent suspension and ARB's for track days. The Ibiza being less heavy with similar Brembo's should also stop better (disc's are the weak point of these set ups though on track).

LCR is the better shopping car etc in terms of comfort it's easier to live with everyday even with the suspension done.

Cheers

So LCR looks the better plan as I can lose weight, tweak the suspension brakes and engine more.
I have a supercharged modded S2000 which I have done similar stuff to for a "weekend" car
