TPMS tyre valves?

I believe that the TPMS used on my 2013 Altea XL is of the "indirect" type and it detects a loss of pressure by using the ABS sensor to detect a change in rotational speed caused by the change in circumference caused by the loss of pressure.

So if it's only using the ABS sensor, is the tyre valve just a standard rubber (not TPMS specific) type?
