Ive done a few searches and found that seat did a wiring kit 1M6-055-204-G 13pin plug for £100

I'm getting a standard wiring kit and im trying to find out which connectors i need for the rear lights to wire it straight up to them and the pin outs for it.

On each of the rear light housing there are two connectors with nothing connected to them and I guess it is going to be two of these that I must connect to.

Im sure that the connector housing and pins will be available through VAG and I can wire them up myself then.

The towbar has arrived at last and just goto fit it now. I read in the manual for the car there is a bulb on the dash to indicate that trailer lights are working so I'm assuming that the rear indicators for the trailer must come from a different feed, but where is it?

Yeah, the light on the dash only comes on when the SEAT wiring is used cos it re-routes the feeds through those extra plugs you'd found

It's not VagCom enabled at all, it's just a group of different wires

Incidently, I've got a Leon wiring kit (on eBay at the moment) which I tried to fit in the Toledo, but the wiring for the tailgate is different between the Leon vs. Toledo so all the wrong lights came on

The light on the dash flashed, but only when I tapped the brake pedal :D

Got a towing relay fitted now - it beeps, but there's no dash light

Oh, and mine's a UK car btw

AFAIK all SEATs (UK or non) have the bulb in the dash, you just need to buy the proper equipment to make it work ... not the pikey scotchlock solutions

The SEAT kit also comes with a new beefier hazzard switch to take the current drawn through the trailer wiring.

These are the plugs you need to swap in the boot, then there are the two that plug into the lenses (drawn above) and a couple to the numberplate lights (probably don't need to do anything with these though unless they run off that 2nd plug down)

Or here's a link to a proper kit on eBay for £30

Managed to get by towbar fitted today, goto do the electrics properly yet. Only annoying thing was the westfalia towbar I have bought has a flip down bit of the electrics so it has to have side entry electrics so I need to get some silicone sealent to close up the hole on the side now. Think I will prob just splice into the electrics or use mini spade connectors to connect to the light cluster temp until I get the plugs.
