Vehicles with dodecagonal nut
– Apply brake (a second mechanic is required).
A40-0132
– With the vehicle raised, tighten the dodecagonal nut to 300 Nm then loosen by one turn (360°).
– Lower the vehicle until the wheels partially touch the ground.
– Tighten dodecagonal nut to 50 Nm + 30°.
The dodecagonal nut can also be tightened as follows:
– Lower the vehicle until the wheels partially touch the ground.
– Tighten the dodecagonal nut using a torque of 300 Nm and loosen by one turn.
– Turn the nut to a torque of 50 Nm to begin.
E40-0015
– Mark the head of the nut with a line -Arrow A-.
– Mark a second line -arrow B- on the edge of the wheel hub, over the following notch on the dodecagonal nut.
– Continue to turn the dodecagonal nut until the marks coincide.
