Have been doing a few logs with the Passat.

How close to reality are the torque readings from the engine module of a PD130 TDI ?

They are as close as Bosch can calculate them in the ECU based on the operatig conditions of the engine (stuff like air flow, amount of fuel injected, RPM, temperature, etc).

Thanks Uwe, they should be *reasonably* accurate then ...?

I need to get my remap tweaked as the clutch is slipping anywhere between 2000-3000rpm.
I've logged torque-vs-rpm, and if the figures are fairly accurate I can tell at what torque level the clutch starts/stops slipping, and ask for the remap to be capped at that level.

Lee,

Mine is limited to about 380NM at 2000 rpm and then going up to 425Nm at 3000 and then coming down again. I have been told that this is the safe limit for a clutch etc.

Thanks Uwe.

Niall -> Think I might knock my figures a fraction lower, as the Passat is lardier than the Ibiza which puts even more strain on the clutch. At the moment it slips anywhere between 1900-3000 rpm !

Muddy,

Just that you know. Been running this setup for about 2 years now with no problems. Going to get a mates Passat PD100 chipped soon. Should be similair results as the standard 130, but with the turbo coming in earlier.
