My exhaust tailpipes were looking really sorry for themselves so i went out hunting for some Brasso/Silvo or something of the like.

THe local shop didn't have any Brasso etc but did have something called 'Bar Keepers Friend' i was a bit dubious but it was only £2.00 so i bought some - basically its a white powder which you sprinkle on a damp cloth and then rub on the area you want to clean.

Its amazing - a little rubbing and cleaning and they are like new!!!!!! Nothing complicated - apply to cloth rub on rinse off!!!!! I even tried it on the tough rolled lip of the tailpipe which rolls in towards backbox and it took the black and tarnishing straight off. Bingo :funk: looks great!!!

Sorry its a bit like a 'Bella top tip!!!' but i figured share the wealth eh!

Cheers

There is a quicker and less messy method of cleaning exhaust tips and it is totally non abrasive.....................takes seconds.

Do you know those sponge pan scrubbers about fag packet size?
Not the ones with a wire rough bit on the top but the nylon type scrubby bit?

The nylon scrubby bit is tougher than the deposits but not as tough as the chrome/polished metal.
....and you can get into the pipe tip easier too!

The local shop in question was A*DA definitely a good buy as it can be used on loads of metallic and ceramic finishes.

Fickel - yeah fair comment i thought about that route but was concerned about scratching the finish etc.
