top mounts ?

looking around some other posts this seems to be a common prob . i think mine are on the way out as there is a visible gap , and some movement . how cheap / easy to replace?

easy as un do one bolt and replace the top mount... then do the bolt back up
You should do the bearings while youre at it... i think it cost me around 20-25 pounds to dfo the top mounts and bearings

my golf was the same at MOT time i just argued with mot guy and he confessed alot of older vw's are the same just how they are

Is there any benefit of using VR6 top mounts? Id expect them to last longer

Not sure - front struts are the same as a mk3 golf though

IIRC 16v top mounts are same as Passat.

My Golf mad pommy mate swears VR6 mounts are heavy duty types due to the huge engine weight. I'll be fittin mine with some sooon. Anyone ever had any neoprene ones?
