oh i hated the st when i drove it and the 206 gti 180 then i drove a little engined ibiza at work and fell in love with it. its small its spacious inside it looks flashy and mean and everything was where i wanted it and it was comfortable! so i looked into if they done a really fast vertion and discovered the 180 cupra and dont regret it for 1second!!!

from what i can veigly remember the top gear mag mocked the dirt over the rear end the cheaper plastics the usual toosh! i think these mags are something sorta to go on but they shouldnt determine weather you buy 1 or not!

there are better cars than the ibiza in the same price range and size range but imo the ibiza is my favorite out of all the affordable cars ive driven i just for some reason click with it! and i drive 2-10 cars a day

in Max Power (it's the grown up car mag honest ;) ) they did a road test between the fr and a fabia vrs and said the fabia was better! :wtf:

apparently the square styling is 'funky' lol

The list is bull. Its just one guys opinion of not much value. About 6 VAG motors in that list that share chassis yet their positioning is drastically apart for each counterpart

Warwickshire once.
The best review I read was in Drive magazine where they pitted the TDI Cupra against the CLio 182.

Sort of helped me make my mind up.

If anyone wants a copy then send me a PM with your e-mail details and I will scan the review in at work and send it across.

No, they were very close in a head to head as in out of 5 categories the TDI Cupra beat the Clio on 3, matched it on 1 and lost on 1 and still didn't get first place. How the F@ck does that work then!!"!!!!!!"""!"!"!"!"!

however quite good reading and it really helped me make my mind up when I was shopping for a quick motor.

Its an interesting point this, it doesnt just seem to be the Ibiza, its similar for the new Leon. Against the likes of the Civic, Golf and Focus it came bottom I think (alongside the sporty Mazda 6)

I mean come on, the new Cupra is a marvellous machine. SEATs always seem to be overlooked. I couldnt have macthed the deal on my FR with any other car that would touch it on the road. I think the build quality is shabby, but ffs its a CHEAP CAR with an EXCELLENT powerplant (Well FR and Cupra anyway, I think the 1.2 is completely gutless)

Im pretty certain manfacturers pay the journalists to put them up the top of the list so consumers will sway to buy them.

the funniest review I read was the evo mag one where they basically said the cupra was best and was shocked by how it stood up to all the other hot hatches in both handling and performance and tey loved its old school vibe. then they go and put it last in the ratings! really odd:confused:

I always liked the old mk3 cupra and thought what a hoot it must be to have that small car with a big 1.8 turbo lumpin it. crazy!

my missus then bought a 1.2 mk4 and I ended up driving it and thought how lovely is this to drive and immedietely researched the more powerful version. I had to drive it, thus Im now an owner of a cupra and it exceeded all my expectations. Its still immense fun to drive everyday and even after 10 months im not bored and thats weird for me as im on my 4th car in 3 years!
