Right so I've owned the car for a while now and been waiting for near on 6 months to go offshore so I get a good amount of time to write this all!
So I had this at the time..
Which after a lot of time, effort and sourcing the cupra bumpers, I made into this...
So towards the end of November, after owning the diesel one for just over a year.. I decided it was time to come away from the diesel as its just didn't excite me as much as my previous petrols had! So after deep consideration and lots of looking I found this gem..
Stage 2 2007 Mk4 Ibiza Cupra
So it came with all of the standard cupra extras (Seat Sport brakes, Bumpers, Wheels etc) plus the bits to make it capable of the 220bhp!
So heres a list of bits it had done before I owned it:
Engine:
Milltek Decat Downpipe
Milltek Resonated Cat Back (Oval Tip)
Neuspeed Intake Filter
SeatSport Front Mounted Intercooler
Forge Silicone Turbo Intake Hose (Black)
Forge Silicone Intercooler Pipe Kit ~ 5 Hoses (Black)
Forge Intercooler Inlet Section With MAF Sensor (Polished)
Forge 008 Dump Valve ~ Yellow Spring (Comes with All Springs)
ECS ‘Red Top’ Uprated Coil Packs
Forge Secondary Air Intake Blank Plate
SAI Removed And Resistors Installed ~ SAI Is A Common Fault On This Engine
APR Stage 2 Software – 219Bhp
FK Hubcentric Wheel Spacers - 15mm Front (30mm Track Widening) – 20mm Rear (40mm Track Widening)
Dot 5.1 Brake Fluid
Interior:
STRI Motosport Gauges (Black Faces With Red LED To Match Dash Illumination) - Oil Pressure, Oil Temperature, Boost
STRI Motorsport 5xLED Shift Light And Control Box
Picture on the way back from picking it up
So the following day after picking it up it was straight down the local tyre shop to have 2 new proxies fitted to the front, and a pair of avons i had at home from the previous Ibiza. Then straight back home for a full snowfoam, wash, polish and wax! Including Taking the bumper off and scrubbing the intercooler! Whilst the bumper was off a mate popped over with some FR upper grilles so they were fitted!
So a few weeks past and the parts started to pile up so first of all was to fit new discs, pads, slider pins, vibration plates and bleed the brakes through, as it felt the brakes were warped. Also serviced it fully, and changed the gearbox oil at the same time.
Whilst i replaced the pads i noticed they wernt moving to freely, so after trying to clean them up as well as i could it would just have to be a try and see operation! Few days later i noticed the pressure gauge for the oil was on the blink, so after replacing the sender unit she was all good again!
So after the Christmas period had passed, me and a friend went on a 300 mile trip to a meet just outside Essex, and on the way back i noticed the brakes were starting to vibrate again like before the new discs were put on! The car hadn't been driven hard at any point either! so all i could think is the callipers were the problem, down to the small shims that hold the pads in position! So after a lot of shopping about and looking at prices of ksports and seeing if a set of Porsche Cayenne 6 pots would fit (I know, going to the extreme abit!) i decided the best thing i could do is keep the original seat sport Callipers and send them for a refurb!
whilst they were away i sent the wheels over to a mate to be refurbed and painted gloss black, fitted brand new wishbones, track rod ends, drop links, aswell as New Apex 35mm Lowering Springs and braided lines all round! Also Changed the center section to a non resonated one to make it sound that little bit sweeter Whilst the Exhaust was off i cleaned it up!
The Result..
So after 6 long weeks of relying on the missus, my mates and my mum to run me around, the calipers returned and looked amazing! So they were fitted along with new pads and discs and bled through with Dot 5 fluid!
Then to collect the wheels! so borrowed the works van for the night, with a duvet in the back and collected the wheels and had the tyres put on them! The finish on them is stunning! they are most probably the glossiest wheels i have ever seen! ]
The end result..
So after a fair few coats of wax they were put on the car..
So for now that is how she stands, until I get home! Future plans are as follows..
Wrap the roof in gloss black,
Paint the front grilles gloss black
Tint the rear windows with a medium smoke tint
Rear anti roll bar
Coilovers
Engine plan is to aim for around 300bhp:
Hybrid k03s
LCR injectors
LCR MAF
Forged Rods
ARP Bolts
Intake Spacer
Relentless manifold (unsure if it fits the K03s so more research needed)
So I had this at the time..
