That is the trouble with braking components, not a lot of emphasis is put on appearance of them as standard and also with the use of wheel cleaners etc they can get to look a sorry state, and when you have a very open alloy wheel it really shows.
We have a lot of complaints from usually Z4/X5 owners about their centre hub section of the discs looking corroded so end up painting them silver, something which will probably get done on my Leon once I get the starfish alloys fitted to it. Plus i'm going to hammerite my tow bar black so will probably drop a bit on the calipers while im there.

BTW spudisdabest, I was'nt implying that you were trying to imitate brembo's, just seemed a good place to comment on the covers as I was amazed to see them the other day.

Nice, need to get mine done as they are looking similar to your before pic. Think I'll stick with black tho.

Would have taken em off if I knew how, but yeah, painted em in situ. Just cleaned em and the arches with car shampoo and warm water then dried with a hair dryer. Sanded em down a lil bit with some smooth stuff, re washed and dried again. Then sprayed em with aerosol brake cleaner then painted with smooth hammerite. Whilst they wer drying I washed, clayed and waxed my wheels then wacked em back on
