To fit front bumper do you need to remove bumper guides from the wings?

Hi there, am refitting the front bumper on a Leon Mk1 following a bump. I have the headlights in but the front clip on the inner side of the bumper won't locate onto the bumper guide as the bumper catches the headlight. Am I right in thinking the bumper guides need removing from the inner wing and then bolting back on with the bumper attached in order to fit the bumper in place?

Cheers

Thanks for that, I take it the 2 bolts for the bumper guides are attached from behind and are accessed from behind the wheelarch liner?

Yep - you can reach the front nut of the offside bracket through the inner wing, where the screenwash reservoir sits - have a look in there and you'll be able to make out the nuts iirc.

Long ratchet extension with an 8 or 10mm socket will get the brackets out.

Nearside I went in behind the arch liner for front and rear nuts. :)
