Got a great quote of £25 per window.

Getting them all done, apart from windscreen of course lol...

They have just dropped off a couple of samples, cant decide atm whether to have 20 or 40% all round....

20 or 40 % is way over the legal limit.

any additional tint on your front windows of any % is illegal.

up to you of course if you take that risk. does look great of course :)

On a legal side of things the Police would prefer people have tints on the fronts that allow a minimum of 70% of light through them (i.e. a 29% tint). The back windows are not governed so they can be 100% but doing so will usually lead to the police pulling you over and testing the fronts to see if they are legal. Obviously don't get the windscreen done or else you will.
In my opinion 20-25% tints all round look really good and subtle. You don't want people looking at your car thinking it has solid tints at the back, maybe their is something in there etc.

Which is why black is a no go for me....

however the 20% doesnt look any darker than is on there now.....

which is why i am leaning towards 40%

The company that you are getting the tints 'should' tell you what should be legal or not. So its best to ask the people you are getting the tints from for the best tradeoff if their is any.

Yes they did tell me all the legalities, however mine will be slightly dubious lol

is that 65% of light coming in or 65% blocked out?

I have tried all the samples on my car tonight...big mistake took over 2 hours to get the residue off the windows lol my future is not in window tints lol

But I am having 40%, i.e it allows 40% light in
