Tinting headlights and tail lights

Hey was just wondering if it is legal to tint your headlights/tail lights? Only wanting a very light smokey affect. There is loads of options to buy on ebay but some recomend for show purposes only but some are saying its legal and will pass MOT with it on. Dont wana buy some to then get pulled over and fined :/ ... But one thing i have notices is that the corsa sxi's have dark tinted tail lights as standard but the lower models have normal lights that are red? So surely i can get away with a slight smoked tint on my ibiza? Any help would be great thanks

A light tint shouldn't be a problem. But it's down to the cop's arsiness I guess.

I emailed the officer in charge of the traffic police in my area for advice about this last year and showed him pics. He basically said "In my opinion, it's not illegal but it's just my opinion". I keep a copy of it in the car just incase I get pulled, never happened yet.

At the very worst, I would think they'd just ask you to pull the tint off and go on your way.

I have got something called fly eyes bud. It really good and its 100% legal. Plus it pretty cheap and really easy to fit.

only illegal on back if cover the reflector, front still needs to show all the light through my mate has limo black on his front lights and when he was pulled over he just proved they show all the light through and police didnt do anything just advised to remove it as next ones may not be as nice.

fly eye is most common if you want a light tint and its fully legal

i would rather tint inside that cover my headlights

if it is the rears i would just go with Lamin-X looks so much better than the flyeyes stuff.

if i was you id use the fly eyes iv got them on mine n they are suppose to be legal n pas on MOT

Your car looks awesome mate! Dont need any more persuasion u can clearly tell the difference with the lights lol fly eyes have been ordered!

would recommend spi vision. 100% legal and easy to work with.

here's a picture of my old fr with one light tinted with spi vision. basically the same stuff as fly eyes:
