Right gents (and Ladies)

I know that the LC windows have a small amount of tint on them (5% or summit), which means that you can't put any further tint on them, as it puts them over the legal limit [:@] .. however ..

Do the Leon's lower down the spec sheet have the same factory tint in the driver / passenger windows?

Want to darken mine down a little, but don't want the grief of have the Plod pulling me for being too dark...and was thinking that if there are Leon's out there with pure clear glass that I could hunt the Scrappers for a pair of said windows, and then get these tinted to legal limit...

Thoughts please :help:

i can see why you are thinking of doing this however, as i understand it the factory tints are so close to the legal limit that the difference that you would achieve would be nigh on unnoticeable. if hats the case, then it really wouldnt be worth the time and effort.

Even un-tinted glass does not let through 100% light, so you'll still find that the lightest tint around puts you right on, or just over, the legal minimum.

mate, are you 18 years old with a vauxhall corsa with 6 x 9s on your back parcel shelf and a bass box the size of wales in the boot, do you head down your local car park then drive aimlessly around your nearest town with "NOW thats what i call max w***er "blaring out with your windows down, doing donuts in mcdonalds car parks. if the answer to all the above questions is no then i don't think your average plod will pull you over for having a nice tint in your windows, usually they only turn up with light measuring devices to said car parks to frighten young gimps who are probably on an asbo anyway. i had my ibiza tinted , not to limo proportions mind, and i never had any problems whatsoever. get them done you know you wanna. ;) [B)]

Cheers gents...

Was going to get the rear windows done anyway, more for the little one than anything, but it was the fronts I was worried about...

Will prob still have a nose round the local scrappers & see if they have any, and how much they want for them...

I have recently just got the 35% smoked tints all round. They are the lightest tints I think you can buy. I didn't want to have a mismatch on the fronts/backs etc.. and even got the guy to put on a tint sunstrip. Looks subtile and not too dark. I never had a problem in 2 1/2 years with them on my old car.
£150 all round with sunstrip. :)

Exactly what I have on the beeza, apart from the sunstrip. The prev. owner had it done so I don't know how much it was or anything, but I havn't got into any sort of trouble yet.

I think it looks better when all the windows have the same amount of tint on them, instead of having limo black on the rear and non or very little on the front.

Prob going to get the lightest tint on the front windows, and then a couple of shades darker on the rear's .. to help protect the little person!

Many thanks for the info peep's.
