Has anyone else got the problem on the leon with the speedo jumping...it moves smoothly up untill 79mph then after that it seems to tick like the second hand on a clock. it also ticks back down to 78 sometimes in 2mph jumps if braking.:wtf:

I'm not sure if it is meant to do this or if the needle is sticking. Vag-com doesn't show any faults but i dont know how dto do any further testing.
thanks guys...

My old Clio used to do this. It would start ticking at around 30 mph but didn't actually stop working. In my case it was the speedo cable, but I never bothered to do anything about it because the speedo still worked.

I don't know about the Leon though. Does it still use a speedo cable? or is it 100% electronic?

Had this on the audi estate my uncle had, turned out because it was all electronic it was the speed sensor in the gearbox I believe ... worth having a look maybe.
