Hi guys, wondering if anyone has come across this before and could offer some advice?

I have a mk 3 leon fr, manual, it seems to have a ticking noise in all gears when under 2500rpm. It has had a new engine in it before I got it about 4000 miles ago. I have took it into Seat and they have told me that the noise is coming from the gearbox or clutch area. They want £479 to take the gearbox out and find what is causing the noise.
Has anyone else come across this?
Thanks!

I'd guess it's clutch or clutch throwout bearing if the ticking is rev dependant and not vehicle speed.
That much just to remove the box? Do they use 24 carat gold tools?

I think I'll just take it to a reputable specialist and they can have a look.

I nearly had a fit when they told me how much it would be!

Hi, I’ve got something similar did you get it sorted?

No, unfortunately I am still in a dispute with the dealer I got it from over who will cover it!

If you manage to find anything then please let me know!
