Throttle Clean

Im having problems with my LC.... but as its very intermittent im struggling to get it sorted....
some days there's no fault other days when you start up, the revs flutter when your at a stand still, almost as if it is going to stall.... when this happens, when your booting it, you can feel the car hesitating....

Also find that when starting its worse if you just put the key in and turn on straigh away... If however you turn the ignition on, leave for about 5 secs and then turn the car on, the problem is less frequent.....

So do you think a Throttle body clean would fix this fault ???

could be a coil pack on the way out or a dodgy maf , had the same thing happening to mine . so i took out the plugs gave them a clean and regapped them then took off the pipe to the throttle body and gave the flap inside a clean with cleaner spray then did throttle body alinement (think thats spelt wrong) made a difference but i still had a dodgy coil so changed them all and the maf and now runs nice.... so it cant hurt to try the inexpensive things first and see how it goes

Throttle clean is good practice anyway, mine kept going into limp home and flagging a fault code indicating a blown MAF. on ther advice of a Seat techie I cleaned the trottle body out and its never give trouble since.

this sounds like what the old Mark 2 GTIs suffered with on the old Digifant Injection Engines.

I had one and this is exactly what it used to do. On the GTI there was a thing called an idle stabilising valve, i got this changed and it helped a bit and then whilst chatting with mates one time I was told to take out the idle adjusting screw and give it a clean and also clean the housing it came out of. This sorted the problem, idled dead steady from then on.

I know we are talking about a car that is well over 10 years old but still VAG equipment and well worth noting whilst you try to sort the issue with your car. Hope ths helps.
