I've been getting a few throttle related fault codes and bizarre goings on.
Codes as follows:
18087 - Drive by wire - MIL circuit open
17976 - Throttle actuator(J336) mechanical Intermittant failure
17953 - Throttle Valve controller: malfunction.

Last night while giving it some, the car nose dived losing all boost and going down to 3 cylinders(ESP light on). turned it off then everything goes back to normal. This has happen a couple of times now. When my car got smashed the black plastic casing on the front of the throttle body got cracked so i think the above codes are caused by water ingress. Can these casing be opened or is it easier to replace the TB before i go hacking it to pieces.

Other unexplained codes, maybe be connected to the above???

16955 - cruise/brake switch(A) Circuit malfunction
16622 - Turbocharger boost sensor(A) circuit high input
16795 - manifold Abs.Pressure or Bar.Pressure range/performance
18010 - power supply(B+) Terminal 30 low voltage
17584 - O2 correction behind catalyst. B1 limit attained
16522 - O2 sensor Bank1, sensor2 high voltage
16523 - O2 sensor bank1, sensor2, slow response

Good plan, bit of duct tape, few cable ties and all will be good.

Plus save yourself a lot of money too, guessing there not to cheap.

Yes some one with the same view on life as me at last!!

Three things will fix anything, A hammer (biger the better) WD40 (fix all in a can) and a angle grinder (sparky sparky).

If all else fails, buy a new one.

Strange. I have never seen a problem with the FBW throttle's. Almost certainly due to damage caused by the bump, they aren't cheap either, around 250 + vat iirc.

2 weeks ago i removed the TB to find it electronic parts were corroded due to water ingress(crash damage), cleanedt up as good as i could and filled it with silicone compound to prevent more water getting in. This never cured the wandering revs - caused by me messing with the TB a while back.

Bought a TT TB off ebay for £21 cleaned it up using electrical solvenet and scotch brite. job done. Back to normal now.:D
