Hiya i have a 2002 LC it has the 6cd changer in the glove box and the original head unit. My question is tht if i wanted to change the head unit is there any way of keeping the cd changer and using it with some other head unit? I looked for a thread involving this question but i couldnt find sorry :(
Any help ?!?!?!

Bang In The Middle.
im sure you cant use the seat cd changer with any aftermarket H/U.
there could be a adaptor,so you could use the seat changer, but could be expensive if at all!

hope this helps kaanarig.

Bang In The Middle.
if you get a sub, then get an amp... with speaker line input option(High level input ) then you can use the seat H/U& Changer combined.
sound quality will still be fine

Yea i work at halfords, i tried to get the same thing for my toledo, and its cd changer but we cannot get such a thing, i dont think you can get any adaptor for the autochanger, apart from replacing it with one of the same make as you HU

I know what you mean, its a pain but if your new HU is mp3 compatiple, then you can put all of the six cds from your cd changer onto to one mp3 disc, lol

My Ibiza still has the standard HU & changer, and i've got a full JBL install (front components & Tweeters, 6x9's, 12" Sub, and an amp to power the lot) which sounds amazing! The standard HU's actually put out a very good clear sound.

I'll probably get corrected here, but IIRC Pete (ICECavern) tested the outputs of the AURA HU and found it to have a near perfect flat response... in other words, it's a good HU!! Shame it's the speakers that let it down...

And, as has been saus, unfortunately even though the OE CD changer is believed to be a Panasonic, it is not compatible with any non-SEAT HU.
