A Leon Cupra R in Platinum. Pick her up on Friday next week. Will be leaving the dark side as we are doing less miles as I have a company car so thought it a good time to get the R.

I think I will miss my TDi as its a great all rounder for economy and speed but am sure the R will impress in other ways. I allready have the grin before even driving the new car is this normal...

Nobber - are you still popping round this afternoon? (Just got your text - 5 is fine!)

I can second that - TDI is a great car (had one, loved it), but the R is just somehow a little more satisfying IF you ignore the fuel needle and pretend you don't live in fuel stations.

Get shares in Shell.

That was the worrying thing is being more in the petrol station. But the wife will be driving it more  so she will be paying for the petrol.
Good for me as long as its got some in for when I want to drive it.

Didnt really go looking for change but the Tdi was in for an alarm fault last week and the R was in showroom so had a look round it talked figures next thing I know I'm signing on the dotted line. Most expensive warranty claim I've had. ;)

I normally get 24 - 28 MPG going to shops etc. On a Motorway journey about 34MPG. Best I have ever had so far is 38.4MPG.

I dont drive it like I stole it everywhere though, but I dont drive slowly either.

Nice choice

I'm thinking about changing to an R for same reasons as you, just not sure whether or not I can handle the frequency of trips to the petrol station
