This may be a silly question but.....

yes it does, bhp is converted off the MAF and torque can be logged itself.

Ive always found them to be accurate within 10bhp.

It's not acurate... different maps scale tables differently within the ECU thus it's not comparable even on a before and after as there are so many variables. If you want to just 'play' with stuff within VAG COM then it's interesting but isn't anything to judge the actual power/torque from.

if it was accurate...id of had 220bhp without half the mods iv got now, and i still dont have a front mounted intercooler....not very believable really
and iv never seen in person anyone without a fmic to make much over 200bhp...if 200...i know i never

instead of using the maf to get bhp just look at its value on its own...if it makes it to 150s/160s (g/s)...u know it was worthwhile

depends what map your going for, people like jabba RR your car there and then for you, and show you the gains. Mine came out higher than Jabba's results also on a different RR in hotter weather!

Other tuners do not offer RR's but its totally up to you, depends if you like peak power or equal power up the rev range, or custom switchability or whatever, they are all different.

Basically you can get a vague idea before from it, however as so many things can be rescaled with a map it will show a difference but you won't know how inaccurate it actually is!

What mods and what software are you going to run? A relatively standard car will see around a 50bhp and 50ftlb increase 'peak'.

In honesty though far too many people look way too much at peak figures, at the end of the day they're only really important for pub talk... it's the drivibility and 'in-gear/mid-range' performance that will make the difference between stock/performance and different software.

Be all and end all is: does it really matter if a. the car has no problems and b. it's damn good fun to drive! ;)

Well would just like to know what I get for my cash lol! Its an entirely standard car with the map being by DINSport. ive been quoted 50-60 bhp and 70-90 n/m which sounds feasible

I think it will depend alot on how good a driver you are and how good a driver in the other car is. An excellent driver could quite easily drive faster then a poor driver with 30/40% more power. Consequently if your a good driver you should be able to just beat poor drivers in cars such as golf r32s, clio 192s, etc. However if your a bad driver then you could probably not beat me in my standard cupra!!! Just remember though not to try and bite off more then you can chew lad; skylines, 911s, scoobs etc are out of the question!:p

have fun and i will wait in anticipation to see how you get on!

LOL! Well my standard Cupra has kept pace with a Type R to silly speeds altho the guy was 2 up. Maybe a poor driver lol

Just hoping that the remap will make a big dif which from other peoples reactions I think it will lol

Probably a poor driver lad, as with 2 equal drivers a type R destroys cupras you just have to look at the 0-100mph to see the difference (we have the better build quality though :)). I think it should make quite alot of difference but jsut be carefull about insurance lad!

If its only a standard Boxter you may be able to keep up with him mid range to about 90mph but after he will be long gone. The 4wd of the S3 dint slow them down off the line lad they make them faster so if the s3 is modded going to be hard to beat
