Thinking about buying S3

Sold my Cupra the other week there and im considering getting myself an S3!! Can anyone tell me much about them to push me that little bit further to buy one? Or is there any good forums i can have a look on?

My mate had an S3 for 18months I think they are the nuts, If i wasnt buying a house I would be driving one now! Revo' you run 265bhp easy with silly amounts of torque and the build quality is gr8 on the down side servicing is steep!

went out in my mates old man's 07 plate 260bhp S3 today

suffice to say its quick, can feel the back end kick in when booted (i was in the back) but over all i d haste to say its quicker than my ibiza (a remapped S3 would blow it away though)

get one of them if you got 30grand

if not then the old model is still a fantastic car

I've had my eye on them recently.

I'd go for a facelift 2000> model, subtle differences for my liking. They start around £8k and onwards, not seen any for Ibiza prices.

S3's can be prone to blowing up engines before and after remapping.
Check all suspension linkages because expensive to repair
Haldex system can take a lot of abuse but oil mjust be changed every 40.000 miles.
As with all 4wd cars tyres should be changed all at once

Also all the other things that are common to performance cars.
