hi folks, i drove to my girlfriends last night at about 60-70mph(honest) because it was windy, so i turned off the car everything was perfect... woke up this morning to drive to work and there was no turbo whatsoever. i put it down to being so cold(2.5 degC) so i let it warm up and there is still no turbo so i think it could be goosed, any ideas or is my geuss correct (hope not)

please help

There is a fault in the manufacturers software that seemed to tell the ECU to knock back and therefore the turbo barely spooled up (usually happens at temps below zero deg C) go drive the car now and it will be fine if this is the case. It was rumoured to be a programming glitch / safety device for engine in very cold temps.

If it happens again drive for 2mins and ignition off and restart and everything should be fine.

ok Steve, i am at work at the mo, but i will try it at dinner time, will let you know how i get on

cheers mate

Unusual to happen at temps as warm as 2.5degC, only happened below Zero with me but could be a slightly over reading sensor etc or if it's very windy maybe wind chill took it to around zero

Although it happened rarely it can be a bit dangerous, I recall pulling onto the motorway after being sat in traffic and pulling into a gap thinking I'd be fine and then thining OMG WTF is going on.......No Power

Or you could have blown a hose, if its not that!

Its unlikely to be your actual turbo unit, as you would here screeching etc along with it running poor and lots of blue smoke coming out the back!

As ruud has said, temperature affecting software or a hose has blown somewhere:)

Could it be the MAF? When mine went, first time I started it in the morning ithere would be no power, engine off then on again and all was well.
