Thickness of brake pads?

Does anyone know the thickness of the brembo brake pads when new? Just that I have ordered a set through my work they are lucas ones and they just look thinner than I thought they would be I will measure them when at work tomorrow.

Cheers

Sure you got the LCR pads and not the Ibiza Cupra R (also Brembo) pads

IIRC they were thinner?

Think people tried them in the LCR and the pads fell apart, LCR is so much heavier than the ICR

TBH I'd have a think about paying a little extra and getting Ferrodo DS2500, I tried 3 or 4 different sets and they were the best balance (in performance terms) for the LCR

They are listed for brembo calipers in the application guide looked them up myself. Plus they are the same size as ones in there I just thought they would be thicker.

I bobed some mintex in mine and there not thick like normal pads there quite thin about 7 - 8 mm of material as mentioned, why do you ask there new so there hardly going to be used and put back in the box, dimensions are usually on the box.

Sorry didn't realise Ibza used Brembo calipers as well? Defo in application guide for Leon.

"why do you ask there new so there hardly going to be used and put back in the box"

Pure economics if I can get twice the thickness for less than double the price I probably would!! Thats just me only use the car twice a week on my push bike rest of the time.

Cheers for your help guys

no difference in pad thickness between LCR and ICR

identical

LCR come with wear sensors as std thats all and their std pads have leading edge chamfers that icr's did'nt

Just reading back through some posts from 2004 / 2005 and you are right on the thickness, it's the suspected difference in pad compound as the ICR ones fell apart when used on some LCR's that had me confused. Obviously my memory isn't what it once was ;)............slightly shocked it's nearly 5 years ago!
