The price of Spark Plugs

Was just browsing through my local Halfords (Ireland) store today and came across the spark plug section. Just out of curiosity I just looked to see how much a set(4) of spark plugs would be for my IBIZA Mk3 1.0i not that need any yet but I just wanted to check out the price for them. Looked up the part number in the book and they were a set of NGK 057 spark plugs. Looked up on the rack and saw one set hanging up. I had to do a double take, 84.99 EURO for a set no less!!!

I thought it was a SEAT car owner with a VW engine I was, not a BMW or Porsche owner

God, when I think of the day where I used to run around in my old Ford Escorts and Orion's and a set of spark plugs would cost a maximum amount of around a tenner - at the end of the day a spark plug is a spark plug isn't it?

18.50 for standard bosch plugs for the 20vt turbo engine so i think you are being ripped of! lol

Well ive just had a 40,000 mile service today at seat, and they have charged me like £27.52 for spark plugs, is that right or wat?, plus i ask them to use sytha gold oil and the can was in the back of the car with less than half a litre in it, surely 20vt doesnt take ova like 4.5 litres of oil does it?

Yeah, thats what I think. I think I might just send an email to NGK and ask them what retail price is supposed to be on these and if I can find an email for Halfords I am going to check with them about the price.
