Just changed the oil in my lunch hour and thought I would have a quick look at the back to see if anything was loose underneath as the car was on a ramp. (I have the rattle that sounds like it comes from the boot trim too.[:@] )

I gave all the heatshields a looking over and a general prod about but nothing was loose. I started to walk back towards the front and gave a plastic looking thing a prod and it was loose as hell. It had a heat shield near it too. I wonder if it will work? I didn't have time to test the car as lunch break was over but I know how sounds coming from some parts of cars seem to sound somewhere else. Will post tomorrow if it cures it. Picture to follow

Fingers crossed.

Yeah I will have a look at the boot trim too. But this thing was secured with clips and still loose so must have been making some sort of rattle. Like you said though, just another rattle to sort out. Heres a pic of the part

Right, took car hame last night and rather than the usual boot rattle sound of a metal clip and plastic, it now only sounds like a metal clip. So it makes me think that I was hearing two rattles. Might be something for others to look for. I'll post a picture of where the plastic thing fits after. Now to find the other rattle....

Cant stand rattles...They have so many. I was coming home from cool louvres today..and i pulled over on the m4 twice to try and fix a rattle that developed new today. It was the trim panel between the seat and door.

The dash has been making alot of noise to, so i got home, pulled out the glovebox and gave it all a going over...seems much better now.

My next rattle is to sort the boot rattle out..im pretty sure mine is coming from the trim that attaches to the boot panel that goes into the air.

I hate rattles, they drive me insane..I will de-rattle the car...Or sell it...simple as. :(

i had the same rattle and it drove me nuts!! but in my case i found what it was, this sounds crazy but the cover over the washer jet on the rear window is loose, if you wedge a piece of card under it and go for a drive you might find that the rattle has gone. in my car the rattle sounded metallic and also like loose trim. i fixed my rattle by taking the cover off and glueing a small piece of plastic onto the underside of the cover and refixing in place. i know all this sounds nuts but it was a loud rattle when driving and now its nice and quiet.

I used to have an annoying rattle from the boot area. It was an operating rod that was loose. I had to remove the tail gate trim (the one that goes around the inside of the bootlid) to get to it. I packed the rod with foam, made sure it still worked put the cover back on and it was cured. Job done!!!

I had the rattle coming from inside the boot lid. Took the trim off (not an easy job, lots of pullin and swearin!) the rattle turned out to be the metal bar that runs from the 'S' badge to the catch, the bar length is adjustable so made it shorter.....Now rattle free!!

Rattles, one of the key reasons I could find to moan about the Leon. Other than that I love it, but for some reason the rattles slowly drive me insane. :cartman: I don't think I've been in a car recently that hasn't rattled from somewhere. If its any consolation a Pug 307 seems worse, but the new Vauxhalls and Fords seem better at a 'reasonable' price point. There is more Dynamat in my car than metal now, but it just means you can hear new rattles even better!
