Ibiza went in for some warranty work today, Rear wash wipe packed up, id mentioned a couple of times about the condensation in the front head lights, Dealer had received communication back from Seat for authorisation to change both the head lights accepting that there was a problem.

i need my rear tailgate passenger side one doing! although as i was told by my dealer they wouldn't replace it, i tried fixing it myself and drille a hole in the back to drain the water out (there was loads!). Rekon this would stop them replacing it under warantee?

wel at the mo, i've just finished heating it to death with a hair dryer, and there is a tiny amount of water still in there as a liquid, so i've stuck it in the airing cupboard and am going to hope it all evaporates out of the hole i've drilled.

If i'm successful, i'll then seal the holes, and the entire light with silicon sealant etc.

Fingers crossed!

rash explain that post it was all one sentence didnt quite get it. did you get new ones then put gel in them, how? my rear lights are so steamed up it happened after the first time i washed the car when i got it and has been there since, they obviosly arent sealed properly.
I managed to take both headlights apart on my fiesta to remove ugly orange bits, put them back together and they were okay!

i had both my headlamps replaced under warranty as you know but the 1's they put in also had started to steam up so i got 2 little pots of silicone gell (1cm x 2cms big) and stuck them to the backing covers and what it does is any moisture present in the headlamp the silicone gel warms up and evapourates any moisture no more condensation and no more problems :D SO FAR!

the gel you get in new bags and shoe boxes in little packets that says 'do not eat'!!
gel idea sounds good, is there back covers for the rear lights like the headlights that gel can be stuck too, iv never taken the rear lights apart?

silicone gel reacts when near h20 and litrally heats up and evaporates the condensation! it has worked for me! you get the silicone gell packets it things like new shoes, some toys and some diy materials

silicone is can obviously be made in diffrent forms i dunno im not a scientist but it works so who cares ;)

ul be able to get in to the back of the lights through the square cutouts that pop off the boot trim and the carpet has a whole to access the lights i think for the out lights so no removal needed!
