My poor lil bezza's engine desided 2 die the other! Sadly the cambelt went and was towed all the way home!
So now ive decided 2 make it a lil more fun... The interior is fully stripped and have 2 make the decision on which bucket seats 2 use! And why not change the engine since its gone! Would just like some info on what im in for haha! And also would the bezza's seats fit into a Polo 6n?? Il get some photos up soon as possible, just dont no how 2 upload pictures haha! Many thanks 4 any help, Alex

ooo ...the vr6 has such a sweet grunt and sound to it, but the 1.8t is more twerkable. hmm, youd prob be better off with a 1.8t but i dnt think ive heard of anyone try the vr6 engine into the ibiza... the outcome should be well nice.

I know a couple of people using them in kit cars. Seem decent enough, they're reasonably well put together and seem to offer much the same functionality as any other off-the-shelf aftermarket ECU. Depends really - do you really *need* to change the ECU? These kind of boxes really come into their own if you're doing frequent engine modifications and need to remap regularly as a result or if you want to run multiple maps for some reason or another (e.g. multiple boost settings/timing settings on forced induction motors). In which case, it's probably wisest to choose the ECU that's favoured by your local trusted rolling road operator of choice, or whoever else you plan to use to do the (re)mapping...

was quite straight forward with a bit of information from a few people from a vr6 forum!!
i got one that was in a golf but had only been put in that a year or so (20k). It was the le mans engine bought from TSR so has a 2.9 bottom end and ported and polished head and a few other bits!

no. if anything id have said the handling improved when i put it in!!

this is a quote from a golf forum but the cars and the principle are pretty much the same

"The 1.8T and VR6 swaps are the two most popular swaps into the MKII chassis. While you can argue that the 1.8T swap would be better because it would place less weight over the front end of the MKII chassis, the weight savings are pretty nominal as the compact VR6 engine isnit that much heavier than the 1.8T when you take into account the intercooler, piping and other items that come along with a turbocharged car. Total weight difference is about 80lbs"
