Been good with my VT2 - Only had one episode of limp mode and a -1 bar boost drop. I noticed today when hoofing it in 6th the boost is levelling off nicely around 2.2 bar. :) I thought it was only set to 1.8.

Hope you're back up and running soon. SOunds like some awesome extra bits of kit, some of which I may have to enquire about as well.

Just 8 yrs longer playing with cars mate, nothing personal, When you have made as many cocks up on tuning as i have you become a bit of a sinic i guess:) You never saw my Punto GT that was jinxed from day one i bought it.

I'm sure its just a little teething problem, if it was that easy to fit it all we'd all the sitting here with em, so i suppose you got to expect some difficulties if you wanna have one of the quicker cars.

Well, im back up and running again now, but it came at an exspensive cost, about the cost the cost of a brand spanking new VNT2 turbo (£800) or there abouts. The vanes in the old ones were shot due to the fact that 1 bolt had snapped and 1 had come off some how, which attached the turbo to the manifold, thus making it misaligned and the exhaust gasses escaping before they had chance to go through the turbo and spool it up. Anyway now i have no black smoke and **** loads of power and a big smile has returned, but my credit card is now in a pile melting.

Correct me if I'm being stupid but did Allard supply the bolts that attach the turbo to the maniford? If so, why are you paying for a new turbo? Surely it's their dodgy workmanship...

Yep the fuel econemy might go out the window whilst giving it some stick(currently between 15-18.9mpg) but on the way back from allards yesterday i averaged 54 mpg at a steady 65mph. So no, it doesnt really effect the econemy if you drive steady but if you drive it hard then the figures will drop.

sounds like my 16v :p
