If it's 3bar max, and you're seeing >2bar plus 1bar atmo, how does the ECU know what the boost is? surely it can't be right?

it doesnt mark , thats the thing , spec. tables are wat they should be , but when u press the accelerator it exeeds the specified n just keeps going as far the eyes can see  , think its sticky vanes , but they only stick on high boost , they never stick n give me no boost:blink:  , yesterday i sprayed 10k boost straight into the EGR valve , good amount of crap in there , must deactivate it , seems to spike now at 1.85 maybe a wee bit more and fall back to proper boost which it holds , so i can live with that for a bit ,will see how it goes

local SEAT dealers answer was new blower :help:

Ill take some pics later of the back of the car as i only cleaned it yesterday, and it is now covered in soot. Ill also take a pic of the engine bay as i have had a few new things in there aswell. Think the next thing after the clutch to be fitted will be some uprated discs and pads as i cant see these ones lasting much longer, with it getting up to silly speeds(100+) rather quickly and then stamping on the middle pedal they'll only last a little while me thinks.
Yet more money to spend :(

mark this is a log from 20mins ago , its still doing the +2bar stunt just not as often , it also doesnt hold that boost for as long anymore , before it would sit at that level for maybe 3-5 seconds , but the spike is still there , waaaaay above specified,

Me thinks I need to turn up when the JBS RR day is sorted, just to see the soot on the rollers

bet somethings leaked. too much boost (and you don't know how much) so you're dumping more fuel in than it should be hence the smoke.

check for leaks from airbox to manifold.

do u know dan if the smoke is coming out of the exhaust , or just from the back of the car , could be a exhaust manifold gasket or something like that , hence the bulkhead being sooted,

another 2p worth

Spaniels showing his age, not used to driving a high performance car, what you done to it. Bet it was doen McDonalds drive through last night doing burnouts to impress the 16 yr old girls,

You not got vagcom o check for any faults, boost pipes might be a good start though if chucking out soot everywhere and limping. Give Mike a shout he may know.

This is a list of the things they did and changed:
service set (exhaust gasket, inlet gasket, pd/oil, oil filter, nuts, bolts, brakets) £90
modified intercooler pipes inlet to forge intercooler and turbo outlet to intercooler £58
Allard inlet adaptor (replaces EGR unit) with seal, bolts and adaptors for boost take off. £49.00
tweek the file or shall i say mapper tweeked
the fitting of the gauge
£25 for the fitting and the parts to apply the egr fittings,
Then of coasre they fitted the turbo aswell, and copied the map off the old ecu from mikes car, and tweaked it because mine wasnt getting as much air as his, hence why im getting rid of the dynatwist and will upgrade the rest of the intercooler pipework.

When they took the lower tray off at kwick fit, there was a rubber seal and 2 washers in the tray, do you think they may have come off and caused the problem?

dunno if a split egr pipe would cause .5 bar boost , bad question but was there any holes in the turbo , was the actuator moving ok

i took the bumper off yesterday to double check that all the boost pipes were done up tight, then at kwick fit the pipe that comes directly off the turbo, the clip was a bit loose, and had signs of were on it, so i moved the clip accross, pulled the hose across abit and did the clip back on tight.

Anyway, ive taken the maf out, gone into limp mode to be safe and the smoke has stopped completely, and will end up taking it back down to allards in the week to get them to sort it out.

Just now im going everywhere way slow instead of wharpfactor 10 lol
