As a family we have been using vag group cars for many years, including VW, Seat and Skoda. Currently we are on our second Altea, a 2.0 tdi with a dsg box. It's been a great car, now in its 10th year, even though it is now being demonised as it does not have a dpf.
Future plans to replace our diesel cars have been put on hold because of the government attitude towards the internal combustion engine, particularly diesel vehicles, otherwise an Ateca would have been high on the list.
Personally, I have other interests in classic motorcycles, which is now a strictly summer pastime as far as riding them goes, although I am presently restoring an old property that we recently moved into and which is taking more of my time than I would like.
Best wishes
Malcolm

Welcome Malcolm,

Yeah diesels will be hit pretty hard I think if you're buying new.

You could always buy a MK3 Cupra 300 ST, easily passed off as a family car :)

Nice idea, when I bought the Altea I had originally planned on a Leon, but at 6ft 4in tall, the Altea won out, maybe I could have another look?
