Temperature control problem

Ok I start my car, it warms the car up and everything is ok for about 1/2 hour and then all of a sudden the air from the vents gets very cold and stays that way, only way is to change temp to something like 26oC to get it warm again.

Had a search but couldn't find anything related to this?

It happens with air-con on and off also.

Anyone else experience this?

hi mate, first port of call try pulling the battery off, sounds like a sensory problem to me.

Mine doesnt get warm unless you have it on 28oC or HI, anythign below that is freezing cold, same with ac on or off if its any use. Is your outside temp gauge reading ok?

Yep outside temp gauge is reading ok.

So no solutions to fix it then?

how many miles on your car? has the waterpump been changed yet? they have a habit of breaking up and one of the symptoms is not getting heat through to the cabin

Yep, cambelt and water pump changed recently.

Maybe I need to check the coolant level again as I know someone said that the level goes down after water pump is fitted?

Just to add to that it does stay warm for 1/2 hr and then gets cold.
