Hi the temp sensor is located on the right hand side of the engine in one of the water pipes. there is a plug going down on the top of the sensor and it is held in the pipe by a horsshoe clip.if you look between the battery and engine block you should spot it. these are a common fault and i believe the original sensors were black in color whereas the updated ones are green hope this helps.

As above, take off both your engine covers first.
Changed mine Sat, very easy.........just remember that you engine should be cold:redface:
It's the green sensor shown here (mine was black)

nice one mate, found it, changed it and the car car is finally running smoothly. I dont get it, way would the engine rev all over the place if the temp sender is gone? what link does it have with the maf (as when i disconnected the maf, the problems went away)?

the fueling is different on a cold start up... so i guess if the temp sender sends an intermittant reading and everything leaps about. perhaps disconecting the maf pulls everything to a safe lvl and temp readings get ignored too?

just a guess...

hope your mafs ok... mine went a week after replacing temp sensor :D
