So i had hit something last night on the M6 look like a raised ironwork, Got the car checked over today by Unit18 and got told i had a oil leak from the boost pipe on the turbo end where it joins, so went to motorvogue seat in northampton and he said this is normal for it to leak?

Is this for real as i could see quite a bit of oil built up by the DPF where its leaked down.

if a boost pipe leaks then its not doing its job, ie containing boost to the engine intake. Oil in a boost pipe is normal if its not too much.

I know but it seems as the person in motorvogue was saying its normal that the oil is leaking out of the boost pipe to the connector , If it helps its the pipe that goes from the intercooler to the turbo and the join closest to the turbo

All boost pipes should be air tight as they contain the compressed air. Therefore as air is a gas and oil is a liquid, if it is leaking oil then its 100% leaking air.

That bloke you spoke to has been smoking something unless there have been some wires crossed somewhere in your conversation

The service engineer said because oil passes through it will always leak a little bit. I think he just couldnt be bothered because its coming up to christmas.
