Evening all,
I'm a newbie here and I will soon be the proud owner of a Leon. I'm just having a bit of trouble deciding which one!! If insurance wasn't a problem, a cupraR would be my first choice, but as I am 21 with 3 crashes , its a def no no:( !!!
Therfore, I'v decided its either a TDi (please let me have the 110 Mr insurance man) or the 1.6 petrol!
I do about 400 miles a week and I need :help:

Which model is the 110 diesel? Im not clued up on the other Leon models. If the only thing putting you off an R is insurance surely you could afford the 150 diesel. If i did 400 miles a week which im not far off soon owning a R would cost an outrageous amount in fuel. 300 to a tank. So thats 1 and a 1/3 of a tank per week. Around 70 quid!!!

TDI !!!!!

I maybe a little bias but...

TDI more torque, better MPG and lower insurance. ohhh not to forget less road tax too.

I'd like the TDi, because of the torque, an it would be a lot better on the motorway. The only prob is that TDi's are more expensive, higher milage an the insurance for me is £200 more than the 1.6 petrol.

TDI all the way.

i'm only 21 and have the 110 se X-reg, and know what you mean about insurance. [:@]
Has to be a Tdi for so many reasons, better fuel economy, sooo much more torque, and easy modding potential. if you want a stealth car, just a remap will easily give you 140ish then if you get serious take a look at what allard motor co. can do. the engine will last for ages and the car keeps its value pretty well too (much better then the petrol ones)
if you want more power from a 1.6 there isnt that much you can do without paying big bucks.

Go for a diesel, you know you want to.

well I've owned a TDi, it was a remapped 110, it was grand and all for the first few months but after a while i really couldnt wait to get rid of it. Infact towards the end, I hated it. The smell, the noise was horrible.... Im so glad i have the Cupra R now, but yea the MPG suffers so much but I wana have a bit of fun and enjoy the drive
