Have a LEON CUPRA tdi 150 remapped. I do about 27k miles a year and bought the car new about 18 months ago. How many miles will it be good for and at what point will things start costing a lot to keep it on the road.

I do mostly motorway driving an d don't hammer the car very much, it is also serviced regularly.

What do folks think - 130 k miles? more less.

ok so the engine will last but at what point will the rest of the car start going wrong, lutch, brakes, gearbox, all if driven on motorway and not hammered.

Are you talkin' to me?
clutch depends on how you drive it, i.e if you drag it a lot or ride it, or have the car remapped then the strain on the clutch is higher, thus reducing the life span.

Brakes, well they are wear and tear items anyway, so i would assume fair mileages between new pads etc.

But being as you do a lot of motorway miles then the car should last 150+ before anything major goes wrong (excluding brakes, tyres ets)

In short the running gear should all be ok for the lifestyle you are going to give it.

my mk4 TDI golf had 96k on the clock when i traded it in still on original clutch.things i had to change where suspension all 4 shocks had worn, rear bushes had gone and front arb bushes apart from that it was running like new.Seat technician bought the car off the dealer and is still driving it now.
They run forever if serviced correctly

I've run pretty close to 200k (am at +-307000km). Was Revo'd at 67000km. Have been running Non-retail Revo (alot stronger than retail) and some homemade stuff. Still running strong with uprate injectors, hybrid vnt-2* turbo and over 200hp...:D.
Injectors Swapped due to failure at 152000KM
Clutch was changed around 220000KM
Engine wiring changed at 300000km

There have been no other major problems.
