tdi clutch pedal judder/clatter?

Been to test drive an 02 ibiza 100pd tdi today(57k) and noticed that when you rest your foot on the clutch and push it down you can feel the clatter/judder of the engine...is this normal or is the clutch fooked.
Seemed a little better when warmed up.
Just seemed more noticable than previous diesels i've driven...although it's been 18 months since i last drove a dirty derv.

Any ideas???

sounds like clutch relese bearing is fooked.

sadly .... thats a gearbox off job as its part of slave cylinder. - if thats the case might as well put new clutch in too.

My Audi has just had clutch replaced at 57k so not unlikely that its well worn.
