What is the max. out-put the TDI 2,0 FR engine (170) can handle - I'm thinking about turbo-upgrade Allard, bigger FMIC, OBD. :p

But I have heard that about 225 BHP is the max. safe limet for that engine? is that true?

Devonmikeyboy is currently undergoing being the gunie pig for Allards. He has brought a spare 2.0 tdi 140 bhp engine, so they can fabricate stuff to fit it, and then testing it out on his A3 sline tdi. He currently has the VT5 allard turbo, BMC CAI induction kit, mapped by them and a few other things aswell. IIRC he is running at about 225 bhp, as the injectors on the 16v tdi max out at about the same as the 8v 1.9 pd engine. If you change the injectors and cams etc etc, then i should think 250-260 bhp maybe a tad more. Get in touch with Allards, they're a good bunch down there. And any info needed they will beable to help you answer them.

Ok - sound like a nice set-up.

But as I understand the injectors on the 170 BHP model (piezo inj.) are different then the 140 BHP model. - so at this time it is not a option to modify the in FR model right?

AFAIK the injectors on the PD 140 has a less max flow rate than the PD130/150 ones.
When i had my spare set tested i was told that they flow the same as the 130/150. I think i was quoted 68mg/cycle.

PD140 and 170 injectors are different yes with the 170 producing more power in OEM form. Uprated PD140 injectors are flowing alot more then standard though.
