Can anybody please help me? Got a Leon 110 TDi SE, every now and again it feels like the turbo just dies and i have to restart the car to "reset" it?! Spoke to Seat specialist locally who told me it was airflow meter, which i then replaced but same prob keeps occuring, and there are no faults stored that show on diagnostics, im at a loss.

You need someone with VCDS (formerly Vag Com) to interrogate the ecu and see what's been logged.

I suspect it'll be an overboost issue related to stuck turbo VNT mechanism.

"spoke to seat specialist locally who said it was the MAF" .... typical! no idea eh.... very rarely does a dieing maf cause limp mode.

It will be boost leak or sticky turbo most probably. Like mentioned above get someone with a fault code reader to check, the reason it goes into limp will be in there.

Theres loads about these issues in this TDI section so once youve found out have a look back through for info on how to resolve.

Very similar thing happening with my Ibiza Mk3 TDi 110.
Had it checked over on the VCDS during a recent service, coming up with pressure regulator issue...can't remember the exact terminology that it was showing on the computer.
The guys at the garage said there's 3 or 4 turbo-related regulator valves that may need changing, failing this a new/re-furb turbo. Does this sound about right?
Sorry for hi-jacking this thread by the way, just wondering if the diagnosis on mine may be similar to some of the problems you guys are experiencing.

Cheers.

there is a pressure sensor on the intercooler that can play up, mine had this fault code, i replaced the sensor, but i still get limp mode due to the actuator or vnt sticking.

Gotta agree, when the MAF goes.....................it goes

Car runs like a sack of ****, doesn't go into limp mode, it just doesn't go.

When my MAF went, couldn't get above 2500rpm in top gear. New MAF fitted, and normal service resumed

I had a MAF go and the car felt like it had about 20 bhp and did 20 to the gallon.

I put a mercedes one on, 1/2 the price and twice the reliability. I just had to file a small bump off the connector and put a cable tie.
