Hey was sitting at traffic lights this morning an when pulled away the tcs light flickered and i could hear a kinda grinding noise as if it was trying to prevent it from spinning was sitting in a queue at roadworks so i know i wasn't going fast enough for them to spin. Anyone experienced this?????:(

I think this is the electronic diff (EDL) but it only works below a certian speed. Please correct me if I am wrong.

An EDL sounds a bit expensive lol. I was sittiing in a queue. At first i thought diesel but it i it a few times and i was literaly crawling, not fast enough to spin. I think i'll need to go back out in it, it happened just as i pulled up at work.

Do a search on EDL it sounds similar to what you describe.
Mine does it and it sounds like a grinding noise when it's working.

Ive done a search on EDL but most of there problems seem to arise when accelerating hard or at speed, or high revs, my prob is at low speeds and revs. I'll take it out again on my lunch break and try it out.

Well i drove the car home tonight and the light only came on when u accelerated hard in first, the wheels still sounded like the were spinning though. The car is pulling to the left a little when driving along and has a slight whine from that side. I checked it when i got home and althought the cars pulls to the left, that wheel was cold but the drivers side was hot. Totally confused. I know the discs need replaced, could it be a wheel bearing???:(

My car makes that horrible grinding noise too at slow speed in a similar situation to you described, only does it very occasionally, hopefully its normal.

My car doesnt pull, drives straight and the bearings/suspension all seem good and taught (only done 45k) so hopefully this is a normal thing, does sound horrible though!

After investigation it looks like it is the front drivers side caliper which may have seized:think: I took out the pads and tried to push the piston back in but it wont move is there any particular way if pushing it in or special tool that should be used???
