My Mk3 cupra has suddenly decided to show me some warning lights on the dash, a few weeks ago it was the EPC light which was found to be a wrong bulb in the brake light cluster ( yeah yeah i know......but all bulbs look the same almost and it did fit! )

Anyways, 2 days ago i started her up and the Traction control light and the ABS light is on, when pressing the traction control button on and off the light stays on and so does the ABS ( obviously ) so i assume the Traction controll is off and so is the ABS....... i can still drive it but does this mean that ill have to take it to the garage again and whack it on the VAG?.......bit of a pain in the arse to say the least.

The car drives fine and doesnt seem the be any performance changes at all? very odd dont you recon?....has anyone had this problem before?

Thanks in advance

I paid £37.50 for mine from Europarts !! I had my front drivers side abs sensor go and both the abs and tcs lights were on.. Replaced the offending sensor and cleared fault codes and both lights went off !!

Its an easy job to do on the fronts (not sure bout the back) so if you know which sensor it is do it yourself and save yourself some pennies !!

If your near me i'll happily plug it into vagcom and identify the sensor !!

Yes thats correct from EuroCarparts !

R.H FRONT ABS SENSOR VW/AUDI £32.98+VAT

Cant see how you got it for £5 as Seat wanted £52.00+VAT

Would you believe it my Airbag light is on now !! And its looking like the slipring as I run the meassuring block for the airbag and the resistance is going up and down when you turn the steering wheel. Now it just stays at incorrect now !! Anyone know a price on the slip ring ??

Ive had the same problems with mine abs n tcs lights, was a front n/s abs sensor. Was a think about £40 odd quid and just fitted myself and cleared codes.

The airbag light was the drivers side airbag "squib" as i think it was refered to, which required removing the airbag on the steering wheel and removing the steering wheel, then removing a vibration damper n disconnecting the wiring *NOTE* THIS MUST BE DONE WHEN THE BATTERY IS DISCONNECTED (not to state the obvious but ive seen an airbag set off accidently at work not pretty) and swapping the old air bag "squib" for a new one. SEAT was guna charge a fortune for fitting and the airbag "squib" was about £80-90 itself.

Does then the squib mean the rotary section in the back of the steering wheel !!

Like in the centre of this picture with the ribbon coming out each side ??
