Hi everyone im new on here so please bare with me lol! some idiot smashed my back passenger window saturday night, as it was the middle of the night and raining had no choice but to put a bag over the window and duct tape it.

My windows now been fixed but i still have the duct tape marks all around the side of my car. Does anyone know how to get this off without damaging the body work?

Many thanks in advance

Halfords do an aerosol spray called 'Paint Cleaner' in a silver can, usually sat above their coloured spray paint cans (its a preparation product). Its usually about 3 odd quid. I'd imagine if you used this with a very soft cloth it would remove the residue, but afterwards you should wash AND polish the paint (and preferably wax it).

Open to any other ideas / opinions, but in my mind it would be a lot less painless as it uses a solvent to remove the 'gloop', and should lift it clear of the paint.

What colour is the car (solid or metallic?)

Autoglym tar & glue remover & some elbow grease.

Duck tape glue is a bugger to remove because its soooooo sticky, just take your time & its should come off ok

Reapply a wax to the area after as there will be no protection after using any form of cleaning materials

The best thing to try is WD40, this usually gets all sorts of sticky things off, without damaging paint work!
