I am being lazy and dont want to have to run yet another cable from the front of the car, but is there a switched (ignition) 12v in the boot at all?

I have got the cigarette lighter in the boot, but apparently thats constantly on.
I need a source for my reversing camera, but it draws a little bit of current and dont want it killing my battery when parked. (for long periods)

Cheers

Could you not take the feed off the reversing light wire so when you select reverse it powers up? Or even use the reverse light feed to activate a relay and take the main power from else where like the boot power outlet feed, if the camera draws too much current

yeh, probably.. not confident with relays tho. Always seem to c*ck em up LOL
I was hoping to take it directly of reversing light, but recon it will draw too much current or through a wobbly on the leon dash..
Those LED light clusters cause problems, so i expect a mini camera will too.

Paul, what year is your Cupra TDi? You suggest you have a power outlet in the boot.
I have a Dec 03 Cupra TDi and I've never noticed the outlet. Where is it? can I add one easily?
I want to put my phone cradle inb the boot area to charge up when I have the Parrot kit installed

its easy to spot - its a cigarette lighter on the left hand side of the boot. If you can't see it, it aint there :(

Pooh - I obviously haven't got it.
Any other local sources of 12V.
Can I use the live side of the boot light?

i'd speak to iceman - he'll know for definate.

But the interior lights will be on a fused circuit - if you add something else to the circuit you risk constantly blowing the fuses and damaging equipment.

Personally, after reading and looking into it, I'd run a 12v cable from dash to boot that way.

Iceman - can you help?

Hi, I'm told you know about these things.

I want to add a phone cradle in the boot to charge it up when it's using the Parrot kit I intend to have fitted. Where can I get 12V from?
