Swapping Passenger and Driver Seats

Does anyone know if the front seats can be swapped over? I know the angle adjuster knobs will be on the outer side instead of inner but that's fine.

Car is a bog standard 2000 Ibiza 1.4 Vibe (just an 'S' with a name I think) airbag driver side only

Previous owner must've been substantial as there is no padding left on the drivers seat at all (like sitting on a park bench)

If its a 3 door then the knob to flip the seat forward will be on the inside of the seat in the middle of the car which is stupid aswell. 5 door and this wont be a problem.

Ah yes - forgot about that - it is a 3 door. I'm thinking attaching a bit of string around the flip knob and routing to the correct side might suffice. Not elegant but I don't care too much about that.

True that the adjustable bits would be in different places but I don't think they would be hindered and un-useable.

I'm more curious as to whether the mounts and frames vary from one side of the car to the other?

I think the frames are different mate. Best way to do it is have a look. Only one bolt needs to be undone to take them out.

Only one bolt to take them out?! Reading the other way - only one bolt holds them in - sounds very reassuring from a safety point of view ;)

I'll have a butchers and report back - of course if anyone who reads this knows for sure please feel free to post and save me the spanner time :)

They have runners down the side, and the 'clicker' at the front to change positioning. The clicker holds it in, and a bolt is there for back up . Take the bolt out, take off the little plastic covers at the back of the runners and then hold the 'clicker' open and slide back and work it out.

cheers for the how-to, that'll save a lot of head scratching :)

if they then dont change over because of the runner's. Why dont you then see if the runners can be swapped over?
