ive recently perchased a set of lowering springs from tom b off this site.got them through and decided to try and fit them.i started on the front as these normaly take the longestr.i came to a standstill when it came to the top mount nut on the top of the shock.i cant seem to get it unden.
i have only got a socket and allen key to undo it but no matter how hard i try it wont give.
hasany one got any suggestions on how i can get this unden?

put car on axle stands, then use the car jack to take up some off the weight of the strut. this will put less tension the nut at the top.

shine a light onto the allen key hole, and check what type you need.
from memory, it's a torx (star) shaped one.....

air gun is the only feasable way to do it... take it to a grage and give them a fiver/tenner to undo it, and then just put it back on but not as tight and then drive home and get it off at home... honestly... its not worth the hassle of messing around with it

solved that problem now thanks guys,my dad has got an impact driver which doen the trick.managed to get three done then came to a hult with the passenger front with the bottom two bolts which fix the bottom of the shock to the swingin arm or hub,one bolt snapped after using a torque wrench to undo it and the other is seezed solid so im gana have to cut the nut off and replace both bolts with new ones, then she wil be lowered 60mm.cant wait
