Suspension Kits???

Hello Fellas and Fellaettes!!

Hope you can help me in the Suspension kit minefield. I want to purchase either/ or one of the following kits and would appreciate any advice or experiences with the following....

Apex Suspension kit or H&R Suspension Cup Kit? The latter is a ton more expensive but is it worth it?

Does anybody have either of these kits fitted? How much does it drop the ride?

I am running 17 Superleggy's at mo and have it dropped 35mm.

For the price of the H+R kit you might as well get some FK coilovers.

Loads of people have the H+R kit so have a little search on the forums to see what people say about it.

BTW are you runnin any rear spacers on your OZ wheels?

I have some Eibach Spacers purchased from Badger5, I have had them for a year but never actually fitted them. I am actually going to sell them so if you know anyone who would be interested. I cant remember if they are 15 or 20mm think they are 15 but will post back.

Whats the difference between coilovers and suspension kits? I just have springs fitted at the mo, this is a temp solution and am now getting it done properly. The ride is rock solid at the mo and you really do feel everything, it's awful, I was going to get a full kit to put the ride quality back.

the only real difference is coilovers are adjustable by ride height and in more expensive cases, dampening rates

technically thats it really as a regular suspension kit is a 'coil over'. not necessarily always better for handling...but a good starting point and handy if ur not satisfied at first fitting :)

I've been thinking about FK coilovers or H&R Cup kit but can you tell me how easy are the coilovers to adjust?

Probably will be getting them any way it's got to be an improvment over the H&R cup kit and not much more expenseive either .

Yeah me too, adjustable damping does come in very handy, can get it sitting nice and low with no arch scrubbing. Then whenever i have to load the back ie with people or heavy items i can just stiffen the damping a little to compensate.

The fear i've had with buying non damping adjustable coilovers is that if you get the car sitting where you want it but get arch scrubbing theres not alot you can do about it other than buy/fit stiffer springs.

I have nothing but praise for the H&R Cup Kit i fitted, all fitted and there has been no issues with it what so ever!

YET lol :p nah only joking, i baught Craigs H&R cup kit of him and fitted in on the 28th and it's not too bad IMO car looks nice and low and the rides not to bad either? Plus when you go for coilovers when you take them lower down the the H&R kit you'll start causing problems and seeing bit of you car in your rear view mirror lol ;)

I'm going to have a crack at fitting the H&R kit tomorrow anything to look out for chaps or is it a simple bolt off and on situation (unlikely I know)

Also once fitted I want to get the camber etc sorted but presumably it's best to let the suspension 'settle' before getting this done ?

Cheers in advance
